Manuals revision

Part of Fly Compliant services is reviewing the latest guidance and safety data, keeping our manual system current. Our philosophy has three key tenets:

  1. Less is more – keep manuals as simple as possible.
  2. Be specific – To maintain standards we want to provide specific procedures.
  3. Relevant – Manuals need to address requirements for the intended users.

SMS change management

Revisions are due to:

  • Regulatory changes
  • Operational changes or lessons learned
  • Personnel or organizational changes

We have a stable approach of not making changes unless necessary. The changes we do introduce are based on needed changes (FAA and NTSB recommendations) as noted. Technology is forcing needed changes and making processes more efficient.

Manual system

We have developed a manual system with two components:

  • Flight Operations Script
  • General Operating Policies

The Flight Operations Script is tailored for each aircraft type and provides crews with the proper phraseology for each phase of flight and aircraft specific procedures as applicable.

The General Operating Policies addresses expanded procedures and third-party audit protocols.

Revision schedule

The following is the planned revision schedule for 2026 based on review of FAA Safety Assurance System (SAS) Data Collection Tools (DCT) and a review of industry trends per quarter (as needed). Page Updated as of June 1st, 2026.
